I graduated from Marquette Law School in 1988 and returned to my roots in West Bend to practice law, having begun my professional life at a large Milwaukee law firm. Thereafter I took a position at Schloemer Law Firm in West Bend prior to opening my own practice in my home in 1999 when my children were young. I have a lot of attorneys in my extended family. My father, Henry F. Renard, was the Washington County Family Court Commissioner and a general practice lawyer in this community. He was also a POW in a German prison camp in WWII, which is why I offer Veterans a 10% discount for my services. I decided while attending college at UW-Madison that I wanted a career that would intellectually challenge me and help people. I grew up with my father accepting Christmas trees, wreaths, and honey in exchange for legal services when farmers could not otherwise make payment for legal services. I grew up watching my father help people in this community who needed legal services, regardless of their ability to pay.
