Even before early in-person absentee voting began Tuesday morning, Milwaukeeans had returned 23,415 absentee ballots to the city Election Commission.

General Election absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by the voter’s local clerk by 5 p.m. on election day.

Election officials say voters cast more than 15,000 ballots in St. Louis County on Tuesday, the first day of no-excuse in-person absentee voting for the 2024 general election.

To be counted, absentee ballots sent from within the United States must be received by local clerks no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 5.
