Facebook today announced several updates for its Messenger platform, introducing Siri call integration, new AI features, support for HD video

Meta is updating video and audio calls on Messenger. Now, video calls will be in HD, your voice will be emphasized while suppressing background noises, and you can ask Siri to make calls and craft messages on your behalf.

Messenger has rolled out a suite of new features aimed at improving the voice call and video call experience. These updates include AI-powered backgrounds, HD video calls, noise suppression, and hands-free calling with Siri. These updates follow previous improvements such as the addition of HD media sending.

HD video calling is enabled by default on Wi-Fi but can be turned on for calls using your cell data plan in the “Call settings” menu. You’ll also find options to adjust noise cancellation or switch your call’s audio output. Meta says it’s giving users the ability to leave voice or video messages as well.
