LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said five more Kentuckians have died as a result of the severe weather the Commonwealth experienced this week. That means 20 Kentuckians have died from the weather. He said the most recent deaths were in Warren, Pike, Caldwell, Ohio and Morgan Counties.

Officials are still in the search and rescue phase after heavy rain caused deadly widespread flooding across Kentucky.

Four soldiers with the Indiana National Guard helped with flood rescues in Martin County, Kentucky, this week.

INDIANAPOLIS — Four Indiana National Guard soldiers with the 38th Infantry Division’s combat aviation brigade, headquartered in Shelbyville, assisted their southern neighbors in Kentucky as they helped in flood relief efforts.

Indiana conservation officers are returning home after going to Kentucky to assist with flooding. A release obtained by Eyewitness News says water rescue teams aided Kentucky law enforcement in southeast Kentucky.
