Fortnite developer Epic Games, via founder and CEO Tim Sweeney on X, announced that the game would return to the iOS App Store in the U.S. next week. This comes half a decade after the game was unceremoniously dropped from Apple devices due to a dispute between Apple and Epic over Apple's policy of taking a commission on in-app purchases.

Epic Games’ juggernaut title “Fortnite” is heading back to the iOS App Store in the United States. According to court documents obtained and reviewed by Variety, a District Court in California found that Apple willfully violated the court order in the Epic Games v.

A US court finds Apple violated its orders in the Epic Games case, which has been ongoing since August 2020. It will see the return of Fortnite to iOS for the first time in over four years.
