Demonstrators in coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry participated in the nationwide "Good Trouble Lives On" protests Thursday.

The Good Trouble Lives On protests on July 17 follow similar protests across the U.S., dubbed No Kings, in June.

The protests are taking place on the fifth anniversary of the death of civil rights icon John Lewis. The former congressman coined the phrase "good trouble" to describe peaceful protests challenging civil rights infringements, and organizers say the upcoming demonstrations will carry on this legacy.

Two events in West Palm and others near Boynton and Delray Beach will protest Trump's policies and honor the late John Lewis.

The Rockford protest was one of many across the country and the stateline. Another ‘Good Trouble Lives On’ protest took place in Freeport.

The July 17 protest in Green Bay was intended as a demonstration focused on civil rights. Protesters expressed anger and disgust more broadly.
