India's top airline IndiGo said on Thursday it will damp lease a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner widebody jet from Norse Atlantic Airways, with operations starting in March, as part of its efforts to tap into long-haul routes.

IndiGo airlines teams up with Norse Atlantic Airways to lease a Boeing 787-9, initiating operations in March 2025. This move aligns with IndiGo's strategy to expand its international presence, backed by plans to purchase 30 Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

The pact is initially for a period of six months, which can be extended by up to 18 months, subject to regulatory approvals. IndiGo said the two partners remain "committed" to exploring opportunities to further extend this period,
