Kansas basketball, the nation’s top-ranked team, will face Michigan State in a highly anticipated matchup at the Champions Classic. The Jayhawks are coming off a narrow 92-89 victory over North Carolina, while the Spartans are also starting strong with dominant wins over Monmouth and Niagara.

Senior guard Jaden Akins is Michigan State’s lone returning starter from last year and off to a solid start while leading the team in scoring at 16.5 points per game. There have been major contributions off the bench, including from Kohler and guards Tre Holloman and Jase Richardson, a true freshman making a mark early.
