Center fielder Blake Perkins threw out Starling Marte at the plate to end the game as the surging Milwaukee Brewers hung on to defeat the slumping New York Mets 3-2.

Marte hit a two-out double against Trevor Megill with two outs in the ninth, and he was thrown out at home trying to score on Jeff McNeil’s single.

It ended on a hit: Starling Marte was nailed at the plate for the final out on Jeff McNeil’s single to center. Marte, attempting to score from second following a two-out double against Trevor Megill, was tagged out by catcher William Contreras on a strong throw from Blake Perkins.
