Tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across Southern California on Saturday to voice their concerns over ongoing immigration raids and oppose the policies of President Trump, who they depicted as an aspiring monarch.

Thousands gathered in Daley Plaza and in suburban events in protests timed to coincide with a military parade in Washington celebrating the Army's 250th anniversary and President Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

Protesters held signs that read, “No kings since 1776,” “Bad Things Happen When Good People Do Nothing,” “Stop the Parade Fund Medicaid,” “When cruelty becomes normal compassion looks radical” and “Make Orwell Fiction Again.”

Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey issued a stern warning to potential violent protesters, threatening lethal force. Seven protests are planned in Palm Beach County, with one potentially approaching President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.
