Peter Rice, former chairman of Walt Disney Television and head of 21st Century Fox, has been hired to oversee the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.

Organisers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have named TV and film executive Peter Rice as head of ceremonies and content, marking the first time a major Hollywood figure will oversee the creative production of the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.

Global TV and film executive Peter Rice will produce the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Rice was named Wednesday as the Head of Ceremonies and Content for LA 2028.
