Leavitt was not recruited by BYU out of high school. That normally wouldn't be a big deal but it is a little more noteworthy because his father, Jared, played for BYU, lettering in 1990 and 1991 while his brother Dallin, a safety who played six years with three different NFL teams, played in Provo in 2013 and 2014.
