The last peak of a deadly heat wave that has lasted more than a week was again expected to bring triple-digit temperatures to portions of the Bay Area and Northern California Thursday.

The Bay Area is expected to see the hottest weather of the week on Thursday, with inland temperatures ranging from 95 to 110 degrees. Coastal locations are forecast to be in the 60s to 70s, while locations along the bay front such as Oakland are likely to be in the 80s, Clouser said.

An excessive heat warning that started Wednesday remained in place through Friday at 8 p.m. The areas under the warning are the East Bay hills and interior valley areas, San Jose and the Santa Clara Valley, the Eastern Santa Clara hills, and the North Bay interior mountains. A heat advisory for areas further south and north also was in place.

The intense heat that gripped the Bay Area and California continued into the weekend, with parts of the East and North Bays expected to hit triple digits.
