The Jonathan Kuminga era came to an end for the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. After a summer of contract disputes and months of back and forth between the two sides, Kuminga was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in return for Kristaps Porziņģis.
The trade deadline has passed, and the Golden State Warriors would probably be beating the air right. Despite putting an end to the Jonathan Kuminga saga, the Dubs couldn’t land Giannis Antetokounmpo or even any other Jimmy Butler replacement,
Steve Kerr said the Warriors wouldn’t have traded for Kristaps Porziņģis if they didn’t think he could be healthy.
After KJonathan Kuminga’s departure, Steve Kerr was brutally honest about why the pairing didn’t work for both sides.
"I really want to see him succeed, and I'm sorry that it didn't happen here," Kerr said. "We all take ownership of that."
Golden State bid the forward farewell after a tumultuous five-year stint.
