The 103rd edition of the storied rivalry between the SMU Mustangs and TCU Horned Frogs, the Battle for the Iron Skillet, takes place this Saturday at Gerald J.

TCU and SMU face off for the penultimate time in the 103rd Iron Skillet rivalry. The Horned Frogs are coming off a hard loss to UCF, fumbling a 21-point lead. Sonny Dykes also returns to his former home for the second time since joining TCU.

Last year, the Horned Frogs served as the perfect hosts for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes ’ breakout party with red zone turnovers and a defensive collapse. TCU never regained its confidence and struggled in close games the rest of the way.

Conference realignment has been responsible for reunions and schisms between some of college football’s greatest rivals over the last few seasons. One of the state’s most historic rivalries returns this year in the SEC when Texas and Texas A&M meet at Kyle Field on Nov.
