Wisconsin wildlife officials rescued a bear that had a plastic jug stuck on its head. The first reported sighting was in Sawyer County on July 26. Officials set several live traps based on sightings, but the bear was moving too far great of a distance each day for the traps to be successful.

Local officials were able to track, locate and successfully remove a jar from a Wisconsin black bear’s head.

One observer reported seeing the bear dunk its head, jar and all, into water and letting it seep through the claw holes into the jar to get a drink.

Although conditions have improved in neighboring states, Canadian wildfire smoke will continue to impact Wisconsin's surface air quality into Tuesday, officials said.
