Much of the UK continues to experience very dry conditions after a summer marked by low rainfall and recurring heatwaves.

Tonight will continue similarly with breezy north-westerly winds, plenty of cloud and a few further well-scattered showers. One or two clear breaks will still develop at times.

Tonight will be generally drier aside from the odd light shower locally, with cloud breaking up to bring clear spells. A light to gentle westerly breeze.

Clear skies and a few patches of cloud to start the night. Cloud amounts will tend to increase in western areas during the early hours with some local drizzle possible.

Generally cloudy overnight too with the odd light shower in the north and west. A few clear breaks will briefly develop near dawn. Winds easing a touch.

Sunday will be a cooler day for all of the UK as it begins cloudy with a little bit of rain for southern and eastern areas.

Following weeks of mainly dry weather, we can welcome some rain this weekend, but it is not going to be that much.
