The Boston Celtics are one of the most valuable franchises in all of sports. With all of the tradition of winning that they have, that makes a lot of sense. Boston winning the NBA Championship a season ago only makes the franchise more valuable.

The Celtics ownership sale appears to be ramping up as the calendar year turns to 2025. Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe reports that the team sent out a letter from the Grousbeck family to shareholders on Tuesday that indicated the team will receive their first round of bids from potential buyers of the franchise on January 23.

The Globe obtained a letter from the Grousbeck family to the rest of the stakeholders that outlined the upcoming sale.

On the majority owner side of things, the Grousbeck family are reportedly "pleased with the broad level of interest that has emerged."

According to a letter obtained by the Globe, the Celtics ownership group expects the "first close" on the sale to come this spring.
