KINSHASA, Congo -- An attack on a village in western Congo left 14 people dead, a military official said Monday, as violence over land ownership between rival communities has intensified.
The river barge sank Monday at the mouth of the Sankuru River in Kasai province, an area known for its powerful and turbulent currents, local administrator François Ahaka told the Associated Press.
