Mayor John Whitmire and the City of Houston’s Office of Emergency Management are set to provide Houstonians with an overnight update as freezing conditions continue across the city.

As they continue to monitor the cold weather brought on by the winter storm, the Houston Airports system says they will deactivate their Emergency Operations Center.

Thousands of homes and businesses were without electricity Sunday morning in the Houston region, where residents awoke to cold, wet and in some cases icy conditions as a winter storm moved in.

"All residents are welcome...regardless of their immigration status."

CenterPoint Energy has activated their Emergency Operations Center to support the incoming winter weather to Houston and parts of Southeast Texas.
