Isabella Rossellini is celebrating her first Oscar nomination after working for over four decades. She received the Oscar nomination on Thursday for her supporting role as a Vatican nun in Conclave. Rossellini is the daughter of actress Ingrid Bergman and filmmaker Roberto Rossellini.

Nearly four decades after David Lynch's 'Blue Velvet' made her a star, the Italian grand dame is finally getting her due from the Academy.

Rossellini, 72, has shared her passion for acting on her home turf and has been a longtime patron of the arts on Long Island. She has been a frequent presence at The Gateway in Bellport where she performed her original science-themed works "Link Link Circus" in 2019 and "Darwin's Smile" in 2022 to benefit the theater.

Isabella Rossellini has been nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actress for her role as Sister Agnes in Conclave by Edward Berger, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced in Beverley Hills Thursday.
