A police officer in Salem, Massachusetts, suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a driver who fled the scene, authorities said Thursday night. Salem police said a female officer was conscious and alert after the crash.

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian died when she was hit by a car in a Hampshire village.

After the crash, Charlotte City Councilman J.D. Mazuera Arias wrote on social media that the victim was a former Queens University student named Lance Sotelo.
