Winds are out of the north-northwest, which pushes smoke in a direction over northern New Jersey, officials said.

The Rockland County community gathered Monday to honor the life of 18-year-old Dariel Vasquez, a New York State Parks employee and recent Ramapo High School graduate, who tragically lost his life while fighting a wildfire in Sterling Forest.

Vasquez, an 18-year-old New York State Parks aide, died Saturday while assisting others. His family and friends reflected on his life at Ramapo High School on Monday. CBS News New York's Tony Aiello reports.
