It was a night full of longtime firsts for Monroe County Democrats, with results in town supervisor races not seen in decades.

MONROE - Republican incumbent Terrence Rooney defeated Democrat Leon Ambrosey in Monroe's first selectman race Tuesday. Rooney, who served on Monroe's Town Council before becoming first selectman in 2023, won with 2,964 votes, according to unofficial results posted to the Secretary of the State's website.
