Gonzalo was a tropical storm in the North Atlantic Ocean Friday afternoon Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Gonzalo is the seventh named storm to form in the Atlantic in 2026.

Heavy rain and flash flooding are the greatest concerns from the system set to hit the Gulf Coast later this week.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo, the seventh named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, joined Tropical Storm Fay during the night. Fay could strengthen over the next 12 hours before beginning to weaken. Gonzalo isn't expected to last too long, either, although some strengthening is possible today before it begins to weaken over the weekend.

Polo was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean early Monday Mexico Pacific Time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Polo is the 16th named storm to form in the Eastern Pacific in 2026.
