Eight patients treated for Ebola in Uganda have recovered, the country's health minister said on Wednesday, declaring the country's latest outbreak of the deadly disease "contained".

KAMPALA (Reuters) - Uganda has discharged eight people after they recovered from Ebola although at least 265 contacts remain under quarantine, its health minister said.

World Health Organization described the recoveries as a milestone that “reflects the power of Uganda’s quick and coordinated response.”
