Design defects in three popular models spur Anker's second recall this year. Here's what you should do right away.

Anker makes some of the best power banks we've tested, but it seems to have increasing issues with manufacturing defects – with another recall hitting three more of its backup batteries for smartphones.

Anker has recalled three of its power banks due to potential fire risk caused by defective lithium-ion batteries. Defective batteries can overheat, melt plastic components, emit harmful smoke, and potentially cause a fire. Anker advises owners to safely dispose of the affected power banks and request a replacement if proof of purchase is available.

Despite its small size, the Anker Magnetic Battery’s 10,000mAh capacity is enough to charge your phone about one-and-a-half times from 0 to 100 percent. An iPhone 13 Pro, for example, can be fully charged about 1.8 times with this power bank.
