FIFA has launched a $50 million legacy fund for social programmes in collaboration with 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar, the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

The Legacy Fund will be implemented in partnership with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, headquartered in Doha, Qatar.

Past FIFA Legacy Funds for the World Cups in South Africa, Brazil and Russia were reported to be worth USD 100 million each – double the size of the Qatar fund. FIFA generated over USD 7 billion from the 2022 World Cup.
