On Saturday night, March 15, an EF-2 tornado hit the Gordo community ravaging around 20 buildings, including homes, and businesses.

Brown Family Farm, located on Highway 159 just north of Gordo, lost four of its six chicken houses in a matter of minutes.

Homes and chicken houses were damaged, and in some cases destroyed, and a whole lot of trees knocked down as well.

Gordo locals, first responders, and linemen from around the region showed up to help the town as they deal with the aftermath of disaster.
