Indian lawmakers have voiced rage over the U.S. allegedly flying dozens of deportees halfway around the world in handcuffs and leg chains.

India's Parliament has been disrupted as opposition lawmakers protested what they said was mistreatment of 104 Indian immigrants deported by the U.S.

Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has said New Delhi is engaging with Washington to ensure the adequate treatment of illegal migrants when they are deported from the US. India's opposition has alleged ill-treatment of 104 Indian nationals who arrived back in their home country yesterday on a US military aircraft.

A video released by the US Border Patrol shows Indian nationals being deported on a C-17 military aircraft with hands cuffed and legs shackled. The move, defended by US officials, has sparked criticism in India.

The Trump administration has begun using military aircraft to underscore its determination to deport undocumented migrants. The flight is believed to be the first use of a military aircraft to deport people to India.
