By edging out Spain in a penalty shootout in the European championship final, England’s women’s team cemented its position as the standard-bearer for English soccer.

Four England players have been named in the Euro 2025 team of the tournament after their triumph in Switzerland. Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, right-back Lucy Bronze, forward Chloe Kelly and striker Alessia Russo have all been picked. Hampton played every minute of the Lionesses' six games, making key saves throughout the competition.
