On Tuesday, the X page for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) posted photos of California National Guardsmen on the scene of a detention being carried out by an ICE agent with the caption "Photos from today's ICE Los Angeles immigration enforcement operation."

A protest against Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles has fueled similar demonstrations across the U.S. in recent days, with protesters arrested in New York, Philadelphia and other cities as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he would deploy the National Guard to several locations in the state.

Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles is “unlawful, unconstitutional, and undemocratic,” Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford and 17 other Democratic state attorneys general said in a statement Wednesday.
