Chuck Coleman, who died in a crash of a small plane during a New Mexico air show, was an accomplished pilot who had given lessons to the cast of a "Top Gun" movie.

Charles T. “Chuck” Coleman was a “a well known and respected engineer, aerobatic and test pilot," authorities said

Charles Thomas Coleman was performing aerobatics when the two-seat Extra Flugzeugbau EA300 monoplane he was piloting went down in New Mexico on Sunday.

An incident involving a single airplane was reported at the Las Cruces Air and Space Expo Sunday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m. The incident resulted in the death of the pilot, the sole passenger of the the aircraft, said New Mexico State Police Officer Amanda Richards.
