Mike Vrabel critical of Drake Maye's fumble: ‘That's a bad decision'
It’s no secret that many people outside the confines of New England are not exactly the big fans of Tom Brady and the Patriots dynasty he led for years. With the GOAT being honored at Gillette Stadium with a 12-foot bronze statue, Patriots fans are thrilled. But NBC10 Boston wanted to hear what some rival fans thought. Goldie Vanzandt and her brother, Johnny Willis, were flying into Logan Airport from Atlanta for the weekend. “I’m a Falcons fan,” she grimaced when we asked her what she thought about the new statue. “So there you go.” “If it wasn’t for him, you might not have one,” said Willis. “Give the man whatever he wants.” We tracked down Buffalo fans who were arriving at Terminal C, where there is a line of championship banners flying overhead. Maddie Zing was looking for her bags after touching down from Buffalo when we asked her about the Brady statue. “We need a Josh Allen one,” she said. What does she think of Brady? “I want to see him in a trash can,” she joked. “Sorry. Sorry, Tom Brady.” Zing admitted that even as a longtime Bills fan, she respects the legendary quarterback. “The Patriots have a great dynasty, honestly,” she said. “I wish we had one in Buffalo. But you guys are an awesome team … I can’t even be mad, I’m happy for Boston.” Tim McClatchy flew in from Philadelphia for a wedding. He was very to the point, calling him “overrated.” “He’s lost two Super Bowls to essentially backup quarterbacks,” he said with a smile. “I think he gets a little overhyped.” McClatchy added, “I’m just kidding, he’s the GOAT.” Buffalo Mayor Christopher Scanlon even chimed in when NBC10 Boston reached out. “Tom Brady’s performance during his career, including seven Super Bowl titles, numerous MVP awards, and countless records solidifies his status as one of the greatest players in NFL history,” Scanlon wrote in a statement. “However, as fans acknowledge Brady’s legacy today in Boston, we in the City of Buffalo also look forward in the future to recognizing our own quarterback, MVP Josh Allen.” Scanlon expressed hope that Allen will go down in history, as well. “I am confident that, in time, we will honor Josh’s contributions in a way that reflects his accomplishments and the pride he brings to our city,” he continued.
