"While the man was stuck in the glacier ice, his faithful companion, a small chihuahua, was left at the edge of the crevasse," Air Zermatt said, adding rescuers were then able to "locate the exact site of the accident" and retrieve the hiker from the crevasse.

A tiny chihuahua helped rescuers save his owner after he fell into a deep glacial crevasse in the Swiss Alps on Friday. The heroic hound joined his owner on a hike on Friday afternoon on the Fee Glacier above the mountain resort of Saas-Fee.
