Coca-Cola announced plans on Tuesday to distribute in the United States a version of its signature soft drink with cane sugar, a move that comes after Diet Coke-loving President Donald Trump took credit last week for pressuring the company to switch.

President Trump had posted on on July 16 that had had been in talks with Coca-Cola about the Atlanta-based company using cane sugar.

As Coca-Cola confirms plans to release the cane sugar alternative in the U.S., some nutritionists said there is little health benefit as a replacement for high-fructose corn syrup.

After nudge from President Trump, Coca-Cola says it plans to sell a line of soda for U.S. market that uses natural cane sugar.
