Screen Rant on MSNNetflix's New Live-Action Adaptation Of 8-Year-Old Anime Series Becomes Global Streaming Hit Days After ReleaseNetflix's Global Top 10 TV Shows for the week of May 12th, 2025, reveals that a live-action adaptation of a popular Manga is a streaming hit.
First, for Love is an upcoming licensed South Korean Netflix Original romance comedy series directed by Yoo Je Won, who previously directed popular licensed Netflix K-dramas such as The King: Eternal Monarch, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Love Next Door, and Crash Course in Romance .
Netflix's latest live-action series appears to be pulling audiences in despite its controversial initial reception.
This limited dark comedy series, an adaptation of Molly Smith Metzler's 2011 play Elemeno Pea, follows Devon, who decides to intervene in her sister's unhealthy relationship with her new billionaire boss. The series features Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock in pivotal roles.
Production on season 2 of The Vince Staples Show kicks off on January 22nd, 2025, and will run through March 21st, 2025, indicating the series could be back on our screens by late 2025 or early 2026. Season 2 will notably have three showrunners with Leonard Chang ( Snowfall, Justified) joining Ian Edelman and Maurice Williams.
