Waukee's newest elementary school, Sugar Creek, was ready for the more than 600 students that walked through its doors Tuesday — and, in a growing district, is prepared for even more.

Sugar Creek will be closed to students on 12/18, 12/19 and 12/20. Sugar Creek is the only school in our system impacted at this time, but we will continue to monitor all schools in the district.

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — The Limestone County School System (LCSS) says Sugar Creek Elementary will be closed for the rest of the week due to illness at the school.

The district is calling them 'parent-choice' schools. Sugar Creek Elementary will be Sugar Creek Arts Academy, Thomas Jefferson Elementary will be Thomas Jefferson Leadership Academy.
