Manchester United have won the race to sign Benjamin Sesko, landing the striker from RB Leipzig for a reported £73.7million. Sesko, the Slovenian international, was originally on Arsenal’s shortlist earlier in the summer before they moved for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and the 22-year-old was also courted by Newcastle United.

Sesko scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season and United director of football Jason Wilcox added: “Benjamin possesses a rare combination of electrifying pace and the ability to physically dominate defenders, making him one of the most exceptional young talents in world football.
