After finishing up a practice session with superstar center fielder Byron Buxton, a reporter approached Watkins to talk about the upcoming Home Run Derby. He agreed to answer a few questions while trying his best not to draw any attention to himself.

While Byron Buxton indicated Monday that he has no plans to waive his no-trade clause, fellow Minnesota Twins All-Star Joe Ryan doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract and could very well be dealt by the July 31 MLB trade deadline.

Buxton is 31, owed around $45 million from 2026-28 for a team that counts pennies, and has dealt with wrist, thumb, groin, head, toe, shoulder, hip, hand, and knee injuries, just to name a few, which too often have hindered one of the most-hyped prospects ever in an 11-year career.

Buxton is the son of Felton and Carrie Buxton. His father, Felton, made his living as a truck driver, eventually owning a trucking company. Byron has paid homage to his father with a truck driver celebration after home runs.

The Minnesota Twins have kept All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton out of Thursday's starting lineup due to a bruised left hand
