Tesla and its Chinese rival BYD Co. have reignited their price war, with both EV makers offering big discounts as they battle for supremacy in the world’s biggest auto market.

Tesla Inc. ( TSLA, Financial) announced a 4.3% year-over -year decline in November China-made EV sales to 78,856 units, as reported by CPCA. However, its Model 3 and Model Y vehicle sales increased by 15.5% compared to the previous month.

China’s top maker of electric vehicles (EV) wants to pay a lot less for car parts in the new year, a demand that signals there is no end in sight to a vicious price war nor economic gloom marked by lower wages and uncertain prospects.

The U.S. electric-vehicle maker sold 78,856 China-made cars in November, down 4.3% compared with a year earlier.
