Once upon a time, as a superstar receiver, DeAndre Hopkins had the option to sign whomever he wanted as a high-profile free agent. He could’ve joined a championship contender (like, say, the Kansas City Chiefs), but apparently, contenders weren’t willing to pay him what he wanted. That’s totally fair.

DeAndre Hopkins' tenure with the Tennessee Titans ended sooner than expected. The Titans announced Thursday that they had traded their star receiver to the Kansas City Chiefs, ending the five-time Pro Bowler's tenure with the team after just a season and a half.

That appeared to happen to DeAndre Hopkins while discussing the trade that sent him from the Titans to the two-time defending champion Chiefs. Hopkins, who was dealt to Kansas City on Wednesday, expressed appreciation for his former employer for sending him to what is possibly the most desirable situation in all of sports.
