Dubai's Emirates has ordered five Boeing 777F freighters and will make a decision this year on a purchase of further Boeing or Airbus models for its fleet beyond 2028/29, the airline said on Monday. The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) shares are trading higher premarket on Monday. The company disclosed an order from Emirates SkyCargo for five additional 777 Freighters, adding to a previous order of five.

Boeing has confirmed a new Emirates SkyCargo order for five more 777 Freighters after the airline placed an initial order for the aircraft earlier this year.

Emirates SkyCargo ordered five more Boeing 777 freighters, building on its earlier purchase of five. The latest order, which was finalized in September and listed as unidentified on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries website, brings Emirates' order book to 249 Boeing widebody airplanes, including 14 777 freighters.

In July, Emirates announced another order of five 777 Freighters. That initial order was meant to boost main deck cargo capacity 30% by 2026 before the additional planes order was announced Monday.
