LANSING — Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris was out to an early lead against Republican Donald Trump in Michigan as the first vote counts were released moments after polls closed at 8 p.m. in most of the state. Many of the initial results came from populous Oakland County, where Harris is expected to perform well.

Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump in the key swing state of Michigan with just three days to go until the election, according to a new poll. A final Detroit Free Press /EPIC-MRA poll of 600 likely Michigan voters, conducted October 24-28, found Harris has a 3-percentage-point lead over Trump, with 48 percent to his 45 percent.
