California Governor Gavin Newsom addressed the ICE raids in Southern California and President Trump's decision to deploy troops amid escalating protests.

It's been five days since anti-ICE demonstrations erupted in Los Angeles, some turning violent between protesters and law enforcement officers, prompting President Trump to deploy National Guard troops and hundreds of Marines.

California Governor Gavin Newsom is accusing President Donald Trump of deliberately making the anti-ICE protests worse.

Across the country, marchers similarly took to the streets in New York City in an anti-ICE protest that began in Foley Square, across from where immigration enforcement operations have been centered. Protests have have also been seen in San Francisco, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta and more.

Accusing him of “turning the military against American citizens," California Governor Newsom moved to stop President Trump from using the military to quell the anti-ICE riots in L.A.

Newsom, widely assumed to be a leading contender for the Democratic 2028 presidential ticket, fired back at criticism with a barrage of social media posts.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass ordered a curfew for downtown L.A., as protests over ICE raids continue in the city. And frustration over Trump's deportation agenda spreads to other cities across the country.
