Riding on the centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Shubman Gill, India made a spectacular start to the Test series at Headingley, reaching 359/3 on Day 1. Yashasvi (101) and captain Shubman (127*) both scored centuries before Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 65 supported the strong opening stand.

Shubman Gill made a thumping captaincy debut as he slammed a century during the first Test of the five-match series against England at Leeds. Gill has joined a rare list of Indian players in a major milestone.
