Texas earned the No. 2 ranking and No. 2 seed on Tuesday when the CFP committee released the newest rankings and projections for its 12-team playoff.

Most players will sign Wednesday, although some recruitments often last until Friday, as the early signing period lasts from Dec. 4-6. National Signing Day is on Feb. 5, although most recruits sign during the early period so they can enroll early for spring semesters.
