“My album is done,” Mars wrote in an X post on Jan. 5. The upcoming project will be his first solo full-length release since “24K Magic.” The 2016 album spawned the hits “That’s What I Like” and “24K Magic” and won six trophies at the 2018 Grammys, including Album of the Year.
Mars’ previous album, 24K Magic, was a blockbuster R&B project. The 2016 classic was inspired by the new jack swing sounds of the late 1980s and early 1990s. It would go on to win seven Grammys, including Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
Producer Mark Ronson and singer Bruno Mars started their careers on opposite sides of the country and took different paths to stardom, but they combined forces at exactly the right time to make a hit that felt instantly familiar despite its distinctiveness.
Fans will have to watch out for any updates from the singer to know more about his upcoming album. It's been nearly a decade since Bruno Mars released his last solo studio album. The last one was 24K Magic in November 2016 and it was home to massive classic hits and chart-toppers.
