Area voters will help determine Tuesday which two candidates in the state superintendent of public instruction will move on to the April 1 election.

Incumbent Jill Underly and challenger Brittany Kinser will advance to the April 1 race, securing 37% and 35% of votes statewide in the spring primary, respectively. Jeff Wright won 27% of votes. Underly is backed by the Democratic Party and Kinser has been supported by conservatives.
