Immigration remains Trump’s strongest issue, according to the NBC News Decision Desk Poll, powered by SurveyMonkey, though Americans are closely divided over how he’s handling it.
The new poll, released Wednesday, showed that Trump received low approval ratings across a number of major issues, including immigration, the economy and the “big beautiful bill.” The poll found that just 38% of voters approved of how Trump is handling his job as president, while 54% said they disapproved.
Critics such as California Governor Gavin Newsom viewed Trump's decision to send in the National Guard as an abuse of power.
